FREMONT, CA: How can the right cloud for the business be chosen? Does the company need a public or private cloud? On what basis is cloud computing compared?

Such questions have risen in the minds of business owners time and again since cloud services gained popularity in recent years. Although big players dominate cloud computing, many third-party cloud service providers also exist with similar options. The cloud service to select from is made simpler in the discussion below:

Public Cloud

The most commonly used form of cloud computing is the public cloud. It is a server that divides resources between various customers. A public cloud is an optimal solution for the smaller businesses or for organizations transferring to cloud for testing. It is a beneficial option as public cloud provides ample infrastructure resources at no cost or a minor fee. There exist instances where a public cloud is deemed insecure, but for a majority of startups or businesses, the cloud is sufficient. However, it is essential to be aware of the issues concerning mitigation in the case of a breach. Public clouds are flexible with a vast range of applications and are reliable, simple, and scalable to the needs of companies.

Private Cloud

Private cloud is a service that is entirely dedicated to fulfilling the necessities of a single company. It is usually preferred by larger companies with a complex IT infrastructure and requirements since they offer public cloud-like features with an increased security setting.  When businesses have specific security regulations and requirements that need to be followed, a private cloud can be configured directly to fulfill the needs. The hardware of a private cloud is wholly up to the enterprise to maintain so that no complicating factors are brought into the cloud by other organizations utilizing the same servers.

Hybrid Cloud

Hybrid cloud services are a modification or inter-linking of both public and private cloud. These clouds are significantly utilized by businesses that have high workloads and vary drastically at different times. With investment in the hybrid cloud service, an added investment on cybersecurity needs to be kept in check as well by understanding the section in which, the responsibility of security lies. Hybrid cloud can potentially create complications while defending infrastructure.

In case of Uncertainty, the business board members need to sit and discuss with professionals to choose the type of cloud computing along with the provider to select it from and maintain cloud services
