FREMONT, CA: In wake of the increasing data security breaches, malicious cyber activities, IBM has recently unveiled its new z13s mainframe, which it claims offers a encryption at twice the speed as previous mid-range systems, without compromising performance. The new system, IBM z13s, is completely optimized for the hybrid cloud environments and can help secure critical, and confidential information. The z13s provide access to APIs and microservices in a hybrid cloud setting while keeping data integrity intact in order to protect it from data manipulation and data thefts as compiled by InformationWeek.
In addition, the IBMz13s can also secure the transactions in a more enhanced manner in the cloud environments. "Fast and secure transaction processing is core to the IBM mainframe, helping clients grow their digital business in a hybrid cloud environment," said Tom Rosamilia, Senior Vice President, IBM Systems. With the new IBM z13s, clients no longer have to choose between security and performance.
IBM's z13s is enfolded with security innovations along with novel entry point to the z systems portfolio for enterprises of all sizes. Due to this initiative, z systems can encrypt the sensitive data without compromising response time, eliminating what has traditionally been a barrier for IT departments in implementing encryption. The z13s includes an updated cryptographic and tamper-resistant hardware-accelerated cryptographic coprocessor cards with faster processors and more memory, providing encryption at twice the speed as previous mid-range systems. Hence the clients are able to process twice as many high-volume, cryptographically protected transactions as before without compromising performance.
The product will be available around March this year. IBM Global Financing leases and payment plans are also available from IBM and IBM Business Partners that can cater to meet all customer's needs to upgrade from older models to z13s, or to convert an owned z system to leasing while upgrading or acquiring a net new z13s.
